If you have thought about, have been in, or are in an alternative lifestyle, it may be an aspect of sex and love addiction.

Then again, it may not.

We are members of Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous who need a place to speak freely on our feelings about and experiences in BDSM, non-monogamy, gender identification, sexual orientation, adult entertainment, or other alternative topics.

We understand that many of these things can be triggering for some SLAA members. Many of us also fear alienating ourselves or receiving harsh judgment from other members.

As we began to comb through our sexual and emotional lives, we realized the need to become fully honest with ourselves about which parts were rooted in our addiction and which were given to us by a loving higher power. We developed a great need to talk about them with other SLAA members, so we started groups where we could feel safe to do this.

If you are triggered by these topics, please do not participate. Please respect our emotional safety and be aware that any judgment can trigger some of us to turn against or away from exactly the help we need.

In accordance with the third tradition, our resources are available to all SLAA members willing to listen with an open mind.
